Hindi film industry, also known by its sobriquet Bollywood, is the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai. Raja Harishchandra (1913) was the first full-length Indian feature film. It was directed and produced by Dhundiraj Govind Phalke.
Bollywood has been the largest movie producer worldwide for the last few years, releasing more than a thousand films each year. India is the fourth-largest box office market, with a box office revenue of 1.6 billion U.S dollars.
