Sushant Singh Rajput began his career in 2008 with the television show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. His portrayal of Manav Deshmukh in the serial, Pavitra Rishta received wide appreciation and won him the Indian Television Academy Awards for Best Male Actor and Most Popular Actor. Sushant was born to a Rajput family in Patna, Bihar. While he was a student he developed an interest in dancing and dropped out of college to fully pursue a career in dancing and acting. Sushant participated in two dance reality shows, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 and Zara Nachke Dikha.

He made his Bollywood debut with Koi Pu Che (2013). The movie was based on the popular Chetan Bhagat novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Sushant’s next role was in the Yash Raj movie Shuddh Desi Romance (2013). He appeared in Rajkumar Hirani’s Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer movie PK. PK is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies.

Rajput gained immense popularity with Neeraj Pandey directed movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biographical sports movie based on Indian world cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie was critically and commercially successful. Sushant also starred in romantic-drama movies, Raabta (2017) and Kedarnath (2018).
