Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world. Virat was born in a Punjabi family based in Delhi. As a kid, Kohli showed great interest in Cricket. Kohli captained the Indian Team to victory at the 2008 World U-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia.
Kohli made his one day International (ODI) debut against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on 18 August 2008 and made his test debut against West Indies at Kingston on 20 June 2011. He plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and became the captain of the team in 2013.
Known as an aggressive batsman, Kohli holds the world record for the fastest batsman in ODI cricket to score 10,000 and 11,000 runs in terms of innings played. He was handed-over the Test captaincy of Indian cricket team after Dhoni declared his retirement in 2014. Kohli was handed the captaincy for limited overs in 2017.
Kohli married Anushka Sharma in Florence, Italy on 11 December 2017. The power couple inspired lots of memes on social media.
