The first part of the two panel meme originated from a reply from Mrs. Truss in the House of Commons on October 19, 2022, where she insisted she is a fighter, not a quitter after opposition party leader Sir Keir Starmer urged her to go for having ‘crashed’ the economy.

The second part of the meme originated from Mrs Truss’s resignation speech on 24 October, 2022.

When Mrs. Truss resigned from her post 5 days after saying “I am a fighter not a quitter” social media users started making memes on “I am a fighter not a quitter, I am resigning” meme template.
